The following information will be useful for scheduling an Arbitration with Mark Shelton.

Rate:  $300.00 per hour.  The fee will be divided equally between the parties, unless otherwise agreed.  There will be a 2-hour minimum charge for any a.m. or p.m. arbitration and a 5-hour minimum charge for any a.m. and p.m. arbitration.

Hours Reserved:  Unless otherwise coordinated with our office, arbitrations are scheduled for an a.m. or p.m. period of 3 hours or for an a.m. and p.m. period of 7 hours.

Travel:  There is no additional fee for travel to and from arbitrations held in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Hernando or Manatee Counties.  Travel for any mediation outside of Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Hernando or Manatee Counties will be billed at the rate of $100.00 per hour.

Billing:  Invoices will be delivered to the attorneys (or to representatives or parties if not represented by counsel) and the attorneys and representatives will be responsible for the parties' share of the arbitration fee.

CancellationIf an a.m. or p.m. arbitration is cancelled less than seven (7) days before the date of the scheduled conference, a 2-hour fee will be charged.  If an arbitration scheduled for both the a.m. and p.m. is cancelled less than seven (7) days before the scheduled conference, a 5-hour fee will be charged.

Location:  Arbitrations can be held at our office in Lutz or any location agreed upon by all parties.  Mr. Shelton's availability calendars are noted to show where an arbitration may be scheduled on any available day.  If there is nothing noted, then it can be held anywhere.

Scheduling Procedure

  • View the availability calendars for available dates and times.  The available days are divided into a.m. and p.m. periods.  NOTE:  Dates on the calendar may not be available for non-binding PIP arbitrations.  Because of the frequency of cancellations for non-binding PIP arbitrations, they will not be scheduled on more than one (1) day per week.

  • Coordinate with all parties involved.

  • Once all parties have agreed to a location, date and time, either:  (1) click on the desired "a.m." or "p.m." on one of the availability calendars to reveal the Online Date Request Form, input all requested information and click to submit it to us or call Katie at (813) 949-3681 x8000 and provide all requested information about the claim, parties and location.

Please Note:  An arbitration is not officially scheduled on Mark Shelton’s calendar until we have contacted you to confirm.  We will make every effort to do so within a few business hours of receipt of your submission or telephone call.
